Loosely translated to, “I'll leave it up to you” the omakase tradition is rooted in the Japanese art of caring for others, a philosophy that defines dining at Sunset Sushi.

About The Chef and Owner

Looking to bridge the gap between Japan and Boca Raton with an intimate traditional omakase style dining experience, Sunset Sushi was curated by Chef David Bouhadana, a local native and graduate of Spanish River high school.

“My goal was to create a thoughtful omakase experience that excites the senses and places every guest front and center within arms reach from the chef. Sunset Sushi is a warm and welcoming culinary journey into Tokyo style sushi with unparalleled customer service.” – David Bouhadana

After discovering his love for sushi working as chef in Boca Raton at Yokohama Sushi, Chef Bouhadana traveled to Japan where he immersed himself in the culture and studied under master sushi chefs to learn the art of sushi making. Since then David has made a name for himself in the industry after opening several successful sushi concepts in New York City, Chicago and South Florida including his highly popular signature restaurants Sushi by Bou, Sushi Suite and AlleyCat Izakaya.

During his time in New York Chef Bouhadana was named one of the top chefs in the country under 30 by Zagat, awarded 2 stars by the New York Times from well known food critic Pete Wells and won an Emmy for his web series Shokunin: An Eater Series hosted by David Bouhadana.

“Sushi by Bou, Mr. Bouhadana’s latest project and part of his growing line of dining experiences opened in December. It is a speakeasy like no other. New Yorkers love a hideaway or secret place and this one in NoMad has never quite been done before.”

“The soul of this party is sushi worth getting crazy for…”

“David Bouhadana is the most aggressively cool sushi chef in New York City”
